Background
The architecture is inspired by Sumatran Minang architecture, this masjid with its brown structure stands out from the high-rise housing estate in Telok Blangah. Located at the Central District, it was built in 1991 with resources from the Mosque Building Fund. With a capacity of 3000, the masjid offers weekend madrasah and weekday classes to. Islamic knowledge classes are also held during the evening.
The name of our mosque, Al-Amin Mosque, was chosen because Hj Muhammad Salleh Kechut got the inspiration for the name of this mosque from his memories while performing the obligatory Hajj. He was truly moved by the echoes of 'Amin' chanted by thousands of pilgrims when Surah Al-Fatihah was recited while in the field of Arafah, in the sacred Mosque (Masjidil Haram) and in the Prophet's Mosque (Masjid Nabawi).
Hopefully, saying this name, the Muslims here will always be sincere, trustworthy and honest in all aspects of their lives, especially in fulfilling all the commands of Allah swt. He prayed in shaa Allah, Allah will give us the rays of life and grant all our requests and prayers that are solely devoted to Him.
